Board Members Needed
Help keep Water's Edge a great place to live! There are currently four positions open on the WETA board. Board members meet for an hour or so once a month to oversee common area maintenance, administer the budget, and respond to residents' inquiries. Additionally, board members are occasionally asked to assist with different projects throughout the month. Involvement should require less than 4 hours per month. Positions are open to owners in good standing and it's a great way to make a positive contribution to our community.
Parking
Parking in Water's Edge is very limited. WETA parking regulations are defined in detail and available on this website. The following is a summary of the regulations:
- Each townhome is allocated two reserved parking spaces. These parking spaces belong to WETA and may be used by residents as long as payment for WETA association fees are up to date. Delinquency in payment of association fees automatically revokes this privilege and vehicles parked in these reserved spaces may be towed at any time without notice.
- Visitor parking spaces are for visitors and guests of residents ONLY! Residents who have more than two vehicles must make arrangements for parking their vehicles elsewhere. Vehicles parked in visitor spaces overnight more than 3 nights within any 10-day period are considered residents unless they display a WETA Visitor Pass. WETA does not monitor visitor parking spaces but will act on any reports of abuse by residents. Once a vehicle has been tagged and/or towed, future violations can result in towing without additional notice.
- Vehicles parked in Water's Edge must be in good repair and display current license tags, Prince William County sticker (including those belonging to military members with out of state plates), and inspection sticker.
- Commercial vehicles may not park in Water’s Edge overnight. A commercial vehicle is a truck or car with lettering that promotes/sells any product or service OR other vehicle which meets the definition of a commercial vehicle as defined in the parking regulations.
- Vehicles may only park in marked parking spaces. Parking in an area designated as a fire lane or emergency turn-around is strictly prohibited. Curb parking is not authorized. Vehicles parked in any of these areas can be towed without warning.
- Vehicles not in compliance with WETA parking regulations are subject to towing at any time without notice. ALL VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED AND STORED AT THE OWNER'S RISK AND EXPENSE!
Recurrent Issues and Frequently Asked Questions
- Who is responsible for removing litter?
We all are! Water’s Edge contracts with a grounds maintenance company to maintain the common areas during the spring, summer, and early fall. As part of the contract, they pick up litter in the grassy common areas and on the playgrounds. However, we all need to pitch in to help keep our community clean.
- Branches from trees in the common area are extending over my fence or hitting the side of my townhome.
Homeowners are authorized to prune branches of common area trees extending onto their property. However, homeowners are liable for the improper or excessive pruning which results in the death of a tree. Homeowners are not authorized to remove trees from WETA common areas. Water’s Edge is responsible for trimming trees in the common and parking areas, and for removing dead or fallen trees.
- What's the status on the rat problem?
WETA suspended pest control services in late November due to a decrease in activity. This does not mean that residents should stop being diligent. These pests will remain as long as there is a food source. Do not leave bird seed and cat/dog food outside. Clean up after your pets. Do not leave trash out in open containers.
- We have a street light out in front of our home.
WETA residents are authorized to call NOVEC to report street light outages. In more cases than not, you are aware of a problem before we are. Contact NOVEC at: 703-335-0500.
- My neighbor is not cleaning up after his pet, lets the dog bark for hours, and lets his dog run without a leash.
There are leash, noise, and pet clean-up laws in the county. Call the Prince William County Animal Control at (703) 792-6465 or (703) 792-6500 after 5 PM. Calls may be made anonymously.
- My neighbor has green moldy siding and his house needs painting. Additionally, there's trash in his backyard, he doesn't mow his grass, and he has dead bushes in front of his house.
Report all architectural issues to the Montclair Property Owner's Association at (703) 670-6187 or (703) 690-3188. Renters are authorized to report violations.
